Help Launch a New Era of Conservation
The Land Trust's new three-year Strategic Plan envisions a new era of conservation in our County. Here is what we plan to do, with your support.
- We will lead the way in articulating a community-supported
20-Year Conservation Blueprint for Santa Cruz County.
- We will work to establish a countywide Open Space District to provide local resources and local control over our County's conservation future.
- We will become model stewards of the 3,000 acres we have protected.
- We will double the amount of land we protect – farmland, forests, wetlands – and will expand our work into the rolling hills east of Watsonville.
It is no exaggeration to say that accomplishing these goals will profoundly change the entire landscape of conservation in our County.
The Lane Trust has secured half of the funds necessary to accomplish these goals – from grants, endowments, and revenue we earn from the working forests and farmlands we own. To be successful, the second half will need to be raised from foundations and from people like you – who love the lands that make our County special.
You can help launch this new era of conservation with a donation today. Your investment now will pay rich dividends for generations as we forever protect the lands that make Santa Cruz County the place we love.
As a Land Trust member, you receive our quarterly newsletters, special Member Updates, and invitations to Member Walks. You will also receive half-off the ticket price for you – and your guests – to our Annual Celebration at the Swanton Pacific Ranch.
We are mindful that we are launching this new era of conservation during challenging times. These goals will be accomplished only with your continued support. The future of conservation in Santa Cruz County is in the hands of those who love it – which is exactly were it should be.
Sincerely,
Terry Corwin
