The Land Trust of Santa Cruz County was formed in 1978 by local citizens concerned about protecting the lands that make Santa Cruz County so special. Since then the Land Trust has protected more than 11,850 acres of land, including the following:

Antonelli Pond - The Land Trust owns and is responsible for the management and restoration of this 18 acre property next to Natural Bridges State Beach in Santa Cruz.
Byrne-Milliron Forest –This 402-acre redwood forest in the Corralitos area is owned and managed by the Land Trust. We take pride in our forest management practices which include following a sustainable harvesting approach to maintaining the health of the forest.
Moore Creek Preserve - This 246-acre preserve provides the last major link in the greenbelt surrounding the city of Santa Cruz. The Land Trust manages the property's 85-acre riparian corridor.
Davenport Bluffs - This spectacular site between San Vicente Creek and Davenport Landing on the North Coast of Santa Cruz County is protected by a public access easement.
Circle P Ranch–The 684 acres of this working cattle ranch in the Pajaro Valley at the foot of the Santa Cruz Mountains are protected by a conservation easement established in 2000.
Glenwood Open Space Preserve - We are currently managing an endowment to provide permanent stewardship funding for this 166-acre Preserve. We are working with the City of Scotts Valley and community members interested in creating a public trail system within the Preserve.
Pajaro Valley Farmlands - We currently hold conservation easements on 1,760 acres of farm and ranch land in the Pajaro Valley and own 490 acres of farmland at the Watsonville Sloughs.
Santa Cruz Sandhills - The sandy soils between Scotts Valley and the San Lorenzo Valley, the precious sand parkland is home to seven species of plants and animals found nowhere else on earth. To date, the Land Trust has protected over 200 acres of Sandhills habitat.
CEMEX Redwoods - Ten miles from the city of Santa Cruz, the former CEMEX Redwoods is the largest unprotected wildlife habitat in Santa Cruz County, and the Land Trust and its Living Landscape Initiative partners are working to protect it. Read more about this ongoing project here.
