Ginger grew up in the wild lands of Michigan where moose, wolves, and bears still roam free. She received a B.S. in Environmental Science at Northern Michigan University in 2011. During college she was captain of a collegiate rowing team and spent her mornings watching the sun come up over Lake Superior every day during practices. After some very long winters and a determination for adventure, Ginger put everything she needed in a backpack and moved to California, where she worked on trail conservation and construction with American Conservation Experience. During that term she was a member of the trail crew for Mt. Whitney moving boulders to shape and reconstruct the trail all while living at 12,000 ft.
This instilled a love of California for its diverse landscapes and vast wilderness. After spending two years doing conservation work all over California, she was ready for a stable life in Santa Cruz. Ginger is excited to bring a diverse background of land conservation to the Land Trust of Santa Cruz County, using creative and sustainable management practices.
