Dear Friends, Partners and Fellow Community Members,
After 11 years as the Executive Director and President of the Land Trust of Santa Cruz County, I have decided that it is time to retire and start the next chapter in my life. It has truly been an amazing ride and I am so proud of what we have been able to accomplish together. From the protection of the Borina Farmlands and Watsonville Slough Farm to our recent success with Measure D – virtually ensuring that the Laurel Curve Wildlife Tunnel and the Rail Trail will be built.
I look forward to a new era for the Land Trust, inspired by a vision that will take the Land Trust to new heights as it moves forward accomplishing the bold goals developed in the 25-year community and science based conservation plan, the Conservation Blueprint. (You can check it out on this website.)
None of our successes over these years would have been possible without the support of an extraordinary board and staff, our faithful donors, dedicated agency and land trust partners, wise foundation funders, savvy elected officals and our engaged Santa Cruz community. I leave with my heart filled with gratitude for your confidence and good will.
What’s next you ask? After my last day on February 28, I am going to take a break, do some travel and maybe at some point reincarnate as a consultant!
Bidding you a fond farewell and keep the work going!
