Bryan’s passion for the outdoors grew from a childhood spent exploring the woods, swamps, and tidal creeks of New England. During the 20 years since moving to Santa Cruz County, he has worked to conserve and restore habitat throughout the Monterey Bay region with an emphasis on working lands and wetlands. Prior to joining the Land Trust, Bryan directed the Tidal Wetland Project at the Elkhorn Slough National Estuarine Research Reserve, worked as a consulting hydrologist, and served as staff for the two Resource Conservation Districts in the area. Bryan holds a Master of Hydrologic Sciences degree from U.C. Davis and a bachelor’s degree from Princeton University. He enjoys time with his kids in the woods peeking under logs to see what lives there.
