We received a gift of stock the other day (yes, you can donate stock. Here’s how). Along with the stock, the donors also sent the picture above, which was taken with a wildlife camera on their Bonny Doon property.

These donors are especially supportive of our work getting a wildlife tunnel built under Highway 17. That project is in Caltrans’ hands, where it is currently in the design stage and could be built by 2020.

We’re beginning to look at the challenge that pumas face as they try to leave the Santa Cruz Mountains and move into the Gabilan Range to the south. Such movement is critical to maintaining a healthy genetic diversity for this wide-ranging species.

Our access plan for San Vicente Redwoods – which will be ready for public review early in 2018 – closes the vast majority of the 8,500 acres to public access because it is a significant denning area for mountain lions.

This donor’s gift will go a long way to help us protect the vast habitat of the lion passing through their backyard. So will your gift. And your gift, like theirs, will be doubled by two Land Trust Board members.
